Every demo looks the same. Most workflows don't.
Feature comparisons tell you what a tool can do. They don't tell you whether it fits how your team already works.
Feature comparisons tell you what a tool can do. They don't tell you whether it fits how your team already works.
Compare on four things: whether it reads and writes to the ATS you already use, whether a non-technical recruiter can see what it did and why, whether it fails loudly when the data is messy instead of guessing silently, and whether you can turn it off without losing the workflow underneath it. Price and feature count rank lowest. Vendor lock-in and an audit trail rank highest.
Not the one the vendor wishes you had. A tool that needs you to migrate data before it's useful has already cost you a quarter.
If only the vendor's support team can explain an output, your team hasn't gained a capability. It's gained a dependency.
Recruitment data is never clean. A tool that guesses quietly when a field is empty produces results nobody catches until a candidate complains.
If the process underneath the tool only exists inside the tool, you haven't automated your workflow. You've outsourced it.
Working through this comparison with someone who isn't selling one of the vendors is part of Support.
